Judging Process
Your application will be quality assured by a panel of judges. A decision will be made to validate your application.
Judging Criteria
The judges will be looking for evidence of the following and awarding scores up to the maximum shown.
Research: 10%
Applicants must demonstrate they have explored an environmental issue, understood what causes it and are aware of some existing ways being used to try to resolve the problem.
Project Aims: 10%
What were the aims of the project and what outcomes were intended? How would these help solve the problem?
If it was aimed at persuading others to take action, who was the project aimed at and how did the project communicate with this audience?
Evidence of Teamwork: 10%
Who has helped to develop the project? If undertaken in a group, what is the evidence of teamwork? If the applicant is an individual this criterion will be ignored and the weights of the othersĀ scaled up proportionally.
Innovation: 10%
What new concepts or ideas did the project include?
Implementation: 10%
What actions were taken to implement the project?
Outcomes: 10%
What were the results of the project?
Evaluation: 20%
Did the project achieve its aims? What problems were found? How could the project be improved if run again?
Presentation of Evidence: 20%
How much information has been given? Is it imaginative and eye-catching ? What is the impact? Is it easy to follow and understand? What is the quality of the content?
Grading of Award
The following grades will be awarded, depending on the score achieved.
- Grade 1: 40 – 49
- Grade 2: 50 – 59
- Grade 3: 60 – 69
- Grade 4: 70 – 79
- Grade 5: 80 – 89
- Grade 5*: 90 – 100
